WCG extends their contract with OnGamenet


World Cyber Games have decided to extend their contract with the Korean TV network OnGamenet for another year.


The world’s biggest gaming event has come to an agreement with the Korean game specialized cable TV channel, OnGamenet to extend their contract for another year. The company will be the global broadcast partner till 2010.

Both parties have been working together since the WCG 2006 Grand Final in Monza, Italy and during last years WCG finals in Cologne, the company managed to reach 27 million viewers.

The final was broadcasted with 187 tournament relay programs in English, German and Korean to China`s NeoTV, Germany`s Giga TV, internet broadcast GameSports, and UK`s QuadV channel.

"We are truly looking forward to extending our relationship with OnGamenet and we are very excited to continue to broadcast e-sports at the highest level. The WCG's popularity in China, along with the previous year's broadcast ratings, is a sure sign that this year's WCG 2009 Grand Final will be the most successful and most viewed to date," Hyoung Seok Kim, president and CEO of World Cyber Games, Inc. statement regarding the deal.
