Chinese government rejects WoTLK

World Of Warcraft has always been a game that has been hard to pass approval for sales in China. After editing the WoW and its first expansion to fit the Chinese censorship, it is now the second expansions turn to be edited.

The Undead class isn't permitted to show bones in order to pass the approval of censorship in China. This has been edited for both Chinese versions of the game, World of Warcraft and its expansion pack, The Burning Crusade.

Wrath of the Lich King has been having a little more trouble as it has been rejected for sales in China for the second time. In this expansion the bones of the undead aren't visible, and the Death Knight class hasn't even been included as the Chinese government would never accept an undead class who is allied with undead beasts residing in an undead floating city.

"The applications were rejected due to content that didn't meet requirements, including a city raid and skeleton characters; the submitted version did not contain WLK's Death Knight first hero class..." reported JLM Pacific Epoch

Indeed, the issue of the game seem to be the city raids, in particular a crusade against the Scourge which is due to be censored before WotLK's release in China.

Around a third of World Of Warcrafts subscription are from Asia with a high amount in China. Not giving these subscribers the chance to discover the second expansion could be a potential big loss for Blizzard and The9, the games Chinese operator. This leaves Blizzard with no choice to delay yet again the games release in order to meet the requirements and censorship for China.
